CONTROL OF GREY MOULDS AND OTHER ROTS
In the following paragraphs, different natural products for the control of rots caused by Botrytis spp. and Sclerotinia spp. and Monilia spp. are described. For both diseases, it is necessary to emphasise the importance of a correct crop management by avoiding high humidity and preventing unnecessary tissue lesions, as well as providing a balanced crop nutrition as part of the holistic control strategy.To prevent Botrytis, direct applications of Amicos® System to the soil are recommended and Amicos® B as a foliar spray when fertigation is not available. At the first symptoms, ground applications of Amicos® System should be maintained, combined with foliar applications of Seisil and Amicos® B. For Sclerotinia control the best results are obtained with preventive treatments of Amicos® Zen and Seisil in case of historically infected soils. This strategy has proven to be very successful in several trials carried out on lettuce, which are summarised below. In greenhouse crops and grapevines it is possible to combine the previously described treatments with dusting products such as Seipasil®, Amicos® Natura and Amicos® S.
