Research and development
of new solutions

SEIPASA´s R&D+i department consists of a multidisciplinary team (pharmacists, chemists and agronomists), which aim is to obtain a final product with the highest quality standard. Product development is carried out in different stages, starting by searching for solutions for new market demands and ending with the generation of effective residue free treatments. This process includes finding novel active ingredients, product formulation, field trials and subsequent marketing.

• SEIPASA´s Technical and R&D+i Departments, perform a constant research and analysis of the different agricultural market demands in order to fulfil their requirements and to provide solutions to the sector.

• We participate in national and international forums where we share our experiences with other researchers. The objective is to design an effective product by detecting the mode of action of the different natural active ingredients.

SEIPASA selects only high quality raw materials from specific international markets.

• Ongoing testing of formulations in order to ensure stability and product shelf life.

• First screening efficacy trials in our laboratories.

• SEIPASA has its own field trial facilities where the first screening laboratory trials are studied further under open air cropping conditions and consequently ensuring the efficacy requirements of all our products.

• Training programs for technicians, technical salesmen, distributors and customers.

• Technical crop advising services.

• Establishing customised Zero Residues® and organic farming crop protocols.

• Publication of technical information, including user guidelines for our products, technical and commercial leaflets and research results.

Current research

Currently, SEIPASA dedicate its research efforts to the characterisation of different active ingredients of plant extracts using the HPLC-mass technique. In the same way, another research line started by SEIPASA is based on the identification of natural elicitors / MAMPs, which are capable of providing systemic responses by the plant. Based on these findings, field trials are being carried out, which include the testing of various natural and residue free products for nematode control and the screening of different substances as alternatives for chemical powdery mildew control, compatible with biological pest control strategies.
